Regulus – Prince – Little King – Heart of the Lion

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end,
upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it,
and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
Isaiah 9:6-7

Regulus   –  “prince” or “little king,”  treading under foot, “the heart of the lion”
Regulus, also designated Alpha Leonis (abbreviated Alpha Leoα Leo), is the brightest star in the constellation of Leo (the lion) and one of the brightest stars in the night sky
Rēgulus is Latin for 'prince' or 'little king' its Greek equivalent (Latinised) is Basiliscus. It is also known as Qalb al-Asad, from the Arabic قلب الأسد, meaning 'the heart of the lion', a name already attested in the Greek Kardia Leontos whose Latin equivalent is Cor Leōnis.
Babylonians called it Sharru ("the King"). In India it was known as Maghā ("the Mighty"), in Sogdiana Magh ("the Great"), in Persia Miyan ("the Centre") and also as Venant, one of the four 'royal stars' of the Persian monarchy.
In the Babylonian MUL.APIN, Regulus is listed as LUGAL, meaning "the star that stands in the breast of the Lion: the King."

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Leo is considered the end of the ecliptic (the Omega) - where it starts over again (the Alpha), at Virgo (the first). The Egyptians considered the division point where the woman’s head joins the Lion’s tail. Jesus Christ is the Alpha and Omega - the beginning and end of the story.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord,
which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Revelation 1:8

Judah is prominent in God’s word
from Genesis to Revelation we hear of this lion.

This is the 2nd star in our series:  Stars in Heaven / 4 Royal Stars

שום דברים The four "Royal Stars" with their modern and ancient Persian names were:

Aldebaran (Tascheter) - vernal equinox (Watcher of the East)
Regulus (Venant) - summer solstice (Watcher of the South)
Antares (Satevis) - autumnal equinox (Watcher of the West)
Fomalhaut (Haftorang/Hastorang) - winter solstice (Watcher of the North)

I belong to my beloved and he belongs to me

The four letters of the name Elul (6th Hebrew month)
are an acronym for the phrase in
Song of Songs 6:3

I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine
Song of Songs 6:3

Regulus is at the end of the SICKLE – reminding us of the spiritual harvest.

Judah is a young lion—my son, you return from the prey.
Like a lion he crouches and lies down; like a lioness, who dares to rouse him?
10The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the staff from between his feet,
until Shiloh comes and the allegiance of the nations is his.

Genesis 49:9-10

The Solar Eclipse of August 21, 2017 occurred at Regulus!!

There are many good resources on the star REGULUS and further study of the biblical Mazzaroth:

From Jerusalem, Venus is visible in the dawn sky, rising at 03:18 (IDT) – 3 hours and 12 minutes before the Sun – and reaching an altitude of 35° above the eastern horizon before fading from view as dawn breaks around 06:14.
