Metamorphosis - Anticipating the Change

We were in the forest this weekend and saw many caterpillars. It reminded me of the process we are spiritually undergoing as we wait for our bodies to be changed, fully redeemed, and free!

For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.  And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,  groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.  Romans 8:22-23

Metamorphosis is a biological process by which an animal physically develops after birth or hatching, involving a conspicuous and relatively abrupt change in the animal's body structure through cell growth and differentiation.

...in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:52
