Living Fountain

For with You is the fountain of life;

in Your light we see light.

Understanding is a fountain of life …

Proverbs 16:22

Maqor: Fountain

Everyone gets thirsty. In fact, we all need to drink regularly or we place ourselves at risk of dying. Why would anyone neglect their health by refusing water? More importantly, do we in similar fashion neglect and forsake our spiritual needs as well? Is our spiritual health at risk? Do the scriptures draw this parallel for us?  https://youtu.be/X0dYhL7xAuU

The Maqor or fountain does no one any good unless they drink. Jesus, the Messiah, has come and offered Himself for the sins of all people. He is the Living Water that brings life. But no one can benefit from His offer unless they receive Him and drink the Living Waters.

In Psalm 36, David lifts praises to God for His attributes and His work in providing salvation for mankind. In Verses 8 and 9 David again reminds us that God provided the Maqor of life for us:

” They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.”   http://livingwordin3d.com/discovery/2020/01/27/maqor-fountain

Elisha’s Spring (also called the Prophet’s Fountain and Elisha’s Fountain) is a fresh water spring near the archaeological mound of Tel Jericho where remains of settlements were found dating back to about 8,000 BC. The people who settled here so long ago would have done so to take advantage of the fresh water which is such a scarcity in the harsh desert environment just north of the Dead Sea. Elisha’s Spring makes Jericho an oasis or City of Palms in the otherwise dry surroundings. The perennial spring continues to produce plenty of water which has a temperature of 26°C.

2700 years ago, under threat of siege, King Hezekiah of Judah completed one of the engineering marvels of the ancient world. This 1750 foot rock cut channel travels through solid rock diverting the water from the Gihon Spring to inside the fortified city wall, preventing access to the encroaching Assyrian army.

Song – Rivers of Living Waters

Inspired by John 7:37 and composed by Ross Jutsum

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD

as the waters cover the sea.

Habakkuk 2:14

Rise up as the FOUNTAIN OF LIFE refreshes and nourishes your soul.
Look again at Mark 4.8 and let the words God chose, rise with a freshness and newness in your mind.

• “…yielded a crop that -- sprang up”: anabaino (Strong’s-305 used 87 x N.T.) Whenever Jesus said this word it was for when He went up or “ascended” to Heaven. So it speaks of something rising in a special and visible, and intentional way.
• “…(yielded a crop that) – increased”: auxano (Strong’s-837 used 22 x N.T.) is a very descriptive word. It described how the early church grew (Acts 6.7) from 12 to 3,000 on the day of Pentecost and beyond. It also describes the multiplication of the children of Israel in Egypt (Acts 7.17) from 70 to three million. Both are truly showing something that “increased” in a dramatic way.
• “…(yielded a crop that) – produced”: phero (Strong’s-5342 used 64 x N.T.) This descriptive word is used for dragging in the full net of fish (John 21.10); of being bound and carried (John 21.18); of the paralyzed man carried by four (Mark 2.3); and of the wind driving the boat of Paul in the sailing to Rome (Acts 27.15, 17). All of these speak of strength and direction and accomplishment.

Maranatha!
