The inter-religious
Human Fraternity Meeting took place in a special atmosphere. It was at dusk, in
front of the monument of the Founder of the United Arab Emirates, Zayed bin
Sultan Al- Nahayan. The pope closed his speech by asking the participants in
the meeting to do what unites them all: pray, pray for peace.
Then together with the
Grand Imam Al-Tayeb, the pope signed a joint declaration for Universal
Fraternity. It was an unprecedented and ambitious gesture. They
made a list of rights that they will promote throughout the world. It says “faith
leads a believer to see in the other a brother or sister to be supported and
loved.”
Some 700 prominent
figures from all the major religions participated in the Human Fraternity
Meeting. The event was organized for the “Year
of Tolerance” in the United Arab Emirates.

Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi to open in 2022
The Abrahamic Family House, which encloses a synagogue, a church and a mosque in a single complex, and which is scheduled to be inaugurated in 2022, is 20 percent complete, the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity (HCHF) said in a statement on Tuesday. The Committee, which is also supervising the project , said it is inspired by the 2019 Document on Human Fraternity. Constructed on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, the project is closely followed by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam Ahmed el-Tayeb of al-Azhar, who endorsed the design, the HCHF said.

A special committee was created to promote the document's message. Judge and committee member Abdel Salam led the online event. The Grand Imam said this day should act as a reminder of the need for a more united world. He and the pope praised each other's courage in pushing this initiative forward.

to the group, Pope Francis noted the significance of the manifestation of the
desire to promote life and fraternity being made on the same date as others had

Secretary General “is going to request member States to include the principles
contained in this historical document in their local legislation”,

The peace deal brokered by the United States between UAE-Israel and Bahrain has one clause embedded in the joint-statement that is expected to bring a lot of heat from the Palestinians. The Abraham Accords are not the only recent peace treaty to originate in the UAE. Beginning in 2019 in Abu Dhabi, the similarly named Abraham Family House began construction, aimed at being a major center for interfaith reconciliation.

On the contrary, we need others built in New York, in London, in Paris, in Jakarta, in Cairo, in Beirut, in Jerusalem, and in many other cities. These Abrahamic Family Houses could change the world. The Emiratis know how to be good hosts: they rolled out the red carpet for Bennett’s arrival, when he was greeted by Foreign Minister and brother of the crown prince Abdallah bin Zayed. Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan hosted him for lunch at his private residence.
