His Name

Then I saw heaven standing open, and there before me was a white horse.
And its rider is called Faithful and True.
With righteousness He judges and wages war.
He has eyes like blazing fire, and many royal crowns on His head.
He has a name written on Him that only He Himself knows.
He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood,
and His name is The Word of God.

Revelation 19:12-13

Isaiah 62:2
And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name.

Revelation 2:17
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Revelation 3:12
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Revelation 14:1
And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

Revelation 19:12-13
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

I find it awe-inspiring to meditate on the biblical names of God and the meaning of all the characteristics that each name reflects.  It’s fascinating to ponder that Jesus and we will have new heavenly names as noted in the book of Revelation.  As we breakdown the meaning of the word NAME in Greek and Hebrew we see that our new name will most likely be associated with our character, deeds, or reputation.

 onoma: a name, authority, cause
Greek: ὄνομα, ατος, τό
Definition: name, character, fame, reputation

Shem (/ʃɛm/; Hebrew: שֵׁם, Modern Shem, Tiberian Šēm; Greek: Σήμ Sēm; Ge'ez: ሴም, Sēm; "renown; prosperity; name"; Arabic: سام Sām)
shem: a name
Original Word: שֵׁם

Baruch Haba B'Shem Adonai
(Blessed is He who Comes in The Name of The LORD)
"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.' " (Luke 13:34-35)

And one's legal children may preserve or form one's name (Deuteronomy 25:6).
As is specifically demonstrated by the Name of God: a name to the Hebrews reflected character, personage and perhaps even certain events and deeds (Exodus 3:15, Isaiah 52:6, Jeremiah 33:2, Amos 5:8).
