Oct 14 - Annular eclipse of the Sun today. The path of annularity crosses Oregon, northern Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, west-central and southern Texas, Central America, Colombia, and Brazil.

Amos 8:10 - The Basket of Ripe Fruit …9And in that day, declares the Lord GOD, I will make the sun go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the daytime. 10I will turn your feasts into mourning and all your songs into lamentation. I will cause everyone to wear sackcloth and every head to be shaved. I will make it like a time of mourning for an only son, and its outcome like a bitter day. 11Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord GOD, when I will send a famine on the land—not a famine of bread or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.
Oct 28 - A very slight partial lunar eclipse occurs while the Moon is visible from Europe, Africa, and Asia. The partial eclipse will be deepest at 20:14

Sept 11 - The Biden administration informed Congress on Monday that it has taken concrete steps to carry out a prisoner exchange with Iran, issuing a waiver that will give Tehran access to $6 billion in Iranian oil revenue that had been blocked by U.S. sanctions, according to a State Department document sent to Congress.
Sept 18 - United States and Iran finalized a prisoner swap involving the release of five Americans held on spurious grounds in Tehran. Washington, for its part, released five Iranian nationals charged with sanctions violations and other federal crimes (three of them chose not to return to Iran). In addition, Iran was given access to about $6 billion of funds previously held in South Korea.
Washington has a long history of pairing the transfer of Iranian funds with Tehran’s release of hostages, including in 1981, 1991, and 2016, with the implementation of the nuclear deal. In each case, the United States reached financial settlements with Iran related to disputes originating with the 1979 Islamic Revolution, which were directly or indirectly connected with the release of Americans held hostage in Iran or Lebanon.

Sukkot / Days Of Ingathering For The Final Harvest
Sukkot is considered a joyous occasion and is referred to in Hebrew as Z'man Simchateinu (the time of our rejoicing), and the sukkah itself symbolizes the fragility and transience of life and one's dependence on God.

Oct 7 - Sukkot / Feast of Tabernacles - Last Great Day
Shemini Atzeret (שְׁמִינִי עֲצֶרֶת—"Eighth [day of] Assembly") is a Jewish holiday. It is celebrated on the 22nd day of the Hebrew month of Tishrei
Shemni Atzeret literally means “eighth [day] stop.” It is from the verse which tells us that after the seven days of Sukkot, “on the eighth day, a stop it shall be for you.” During the course of the 7 days of Sukkot, a total of 70 bulls were offered on the Temple altar, one for each of the 70 nations. In a sense, the Sukkot holiday included all of humanity. On this day, however, G‑d asks us to “stop” and celebrate one more day, just us and Him.
John 7:37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
Amos 8:10
I will turn your feasts into mourning and all your songs into lamentation. I will cause everyone to wear sackcloth and every head to be shaved. I will make it like a time of mourning for an only son, and its outcome like a bitter day.

Oct 9 (Day 3) - JERUSALEM — On the third day of fighting after Hamas militants launched surprise rocket and ground assaults, Israel ordered a complete siege of the Gaza Strip, even as its military was still trying to remove Hamas gunmen from small communities along the enclave’s border.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant told the Southern Command there would be a “full siege” over the densely populated enclave, which has a population of 2 million, bordered by Israeli fences and the sea. “No electricity, no food, no fuel. We are fighting animals, and we will act accordingly,” Gallant said on Monday, underscoring the all-out measures that many Israelis are calling for.
The Israeli military says the assault launched by Hamas on Saturday feels like the September 2001 attack on the US.
"This is our 9/11 - they got us," says a spokesman, while another compares it to the 1941 Pearl Harbor attack. Israel is still fighting Palestinian militants in "seven to eight places" on its own territory. More than 700 people have been killed in Israel since Hamas launched its attacks, including 260 at a music festival. Almost 500 have died in Gaza, after Israel launched retaliatory air strikes. Israel says most of the breach points from Gaza into Israel have been closed, mainly with tanks. But the military says it can't deny that fighters might still be crossing into Israel from Gaza. ISTANBUL, Oct 28 (Reuters) - President Tayyip Erdogan addressed hundreds of thousands of supporters at one of the largest pro-Palestinian rallies since the Israel-Hamas war began, courting his Islamist political base a day ahead of the centenary of Turkey's secular republic. "Israel has been openly committing war crimes for 22 days, but the Western leaders cannot even call on Israel for a ceasefire, let alone react to it," Erdogan told the crowd in Istanbul, who waved Palestinian flags. "We will tell the whole world that Israel is a war criminal. We are making preparations for this. We will declare Israel a war criminal," he said. In an hour-long speech, Erdogan also repeated his assertion that Hamas was not a terrorist organisation, describing Israel as an occupier.

Tens of thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters marched in central London on Saturday calling for an immediate ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas. It was the third consecutive weekend that the British capital was the venue for a large rally in support of Palestinians since the devastating attack by terror group Hamas on Israel earlier this month. Many demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and chanted slogans including “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” which essentially calls for the elimination of Israel and which some Jewish organizations say is antisemitic. As Israel ratcheted up its offensive in the coastal strip 2,200 miles away, around 100,000 people attended the latest demonstration – matching last Saturday’s record turnout for a pro-Palestinian march in the UK. One difference seemed to be a palpably more tense mood than previous marches, reflecting events unfolding in Gaza and widespread exasperation over the government’s approach to the three-week-old conflict.
Other rallies took place Saturday in Manchester and Glasgow, Scotland.
