March 5-8 - Iraq papal visit: A look around the ancient city of Ur – in pictures Pope Francis is due to hold an inter-religious service at the ancient city during his visit to Iraq. The gathering will be attended by Muslims and Christians, and other religious groups present in Iraq, including Mandaean-Sabaeans and Yazidis. Named the Prayer for the Sons and Daughters of Abraham, the service will focus on promoting peace and harmony between Iraq’s religious groups.
“Ur is the highlight of the visit because Abraham represents the sign of unity for all who inhabit this land,” Bishop Yaldo said. “It will be a symbol of unity for all religions.”
Why is Ur so important? The ruins of the southern city, which date back to 6,000 BC, lie on a former course of the Euphrates and Ur is one of Iraq’s oldest archaeological sites.
Nearly 5,000 years ago, Ur was the last capital of the Sumerian royal dynasties. It is considered a place where writing, central state power and urban dwelling started. It is also the site of a 4,000-year-old Sumerian temple, known as the Ziggurat, an adjacent residential complex and palaces.
The Bible mentions that Ur was the home city of Abraham and the centre of a wealthy empire.

The Red Heifer and the Third Temple in End-Time Prophecy
The Ashes of the Red Heifer and Ritual Purity (Numbers 19:1–2, 10) But the Temple service can’t begin without the parah adumah (red heifer). What does a cow have to do with the rebuilding of the Holy Temple?  How could a simple animal play a vital role in the success or failure of such a monumental event? God’s word states that only the red heifer can restore the Biblical purity needed to rebuild the Temple.

3-23 - RED SEA blocked at Suez Canal - 400-meter ship stuck by a mighty wind!
In what appears to be a freak accident, a Panama-flagged container ship called the Ever Given, owned by Evergreen Marine Corp., has run aground inside the Suez Canal, the critical artificially made shipping lane connecting the Red Sea with the Mediterranean.
The Suez Canal has been blocked by a giant container ship after a gust of wind blew it off course, causing it to run aground. The MV Ever Given, a Panama-flagged container ship with an owner listed in Japan, "accidentally ran aground after a suspected gust of wind hit it," said the ship's operator.
The 400-meter (1,300-foot) long and 59-meter wide vessel is lodged sideways at one of the canal's narrower points, making it impossible for other ships to bypass it. High winds and a sandstorm, with gusts reaching 50 kilometers per hour (35 miles per hour), had plagued the area on Tuesday.
