Turtle.—Heb., tôr (turtur), from its plaintive note. Three species are
found in Palestine, but the
one intended is doubtless our own turtle-dove (Turtur
auritus). It
is migratory, and its advent marks the return of spring (Jeremiah 8:7). “Search the glades and valleys even by

Dove
In their wild state doves generally build
their nests in the clefts of rocks,
but when domesticated "dove-cots" are prepared for them (Hosea 2:14 ; Jeremiah 48:28 ; Isaiah 60:8 ).
Doves and turtle-doves were the only
birds that could be offered in sacrifice, as they were clean according to the
Mosaic law ( Genesis 15:9 ; Leviticus 5:7 ; 12:6 ; Luke 2:24 ).
The dove was the harbinger of peace to Noah ( Genesis 8:8 Genesis 8:10 ).
It is often mentioned as the emblem of purity
( Psalms 68:13 ). It is a symbol of the Holy Spirit ( Genesis 1:2 ; Matthew 3:16 ; Mark 1:10 ; Luke 3:22 ; John 1:32 );
also of tender and devoted affection
(John 1:15 ; 2:14 ).
David in his distress wished that he had the wings of a dove, that he might fly
away and be at rest ( Psalms 55:6-8 ).
There is a species of dove found at Damascus
"whose feathers, all except the wings, are literally as yellow as
gold" (Psalms 68:13 ).
The first mention of this bird occurs in Gen. 8. The doves

A bird of the family Columbidae. Doves and
pigeons are so closely related as to be spoken and written of as synonymous,
yet there is a distinction recognized from the beginning of time. It was
especially marked in Palestine, because doves migrated, but pigeons remained in
their chosen haunts all the year.

Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel” features 34 near life-sized reproductions of
panels from Michelangelo’s frescoes for the Sistine Chapel, along with a towering recreation
of The Last Judgement. Iconic imagery such as The
Creation of Adam (God nearly touching fingers with the first man), the great
flood and Noah’s Ark, and the banishment of man from the Garden
of Eden are all displayed on large-scale panels, in photographs taken
by photographer Erich Lessing. Visitors can inspect the looming
cracks that threaten the historic works, which conservators have
been painstakingly trying to repair with staples.

The Pope, at St. SIMON Church in the country of Georgia, released the dove on the same day Shimon Peres is buried. Pope Francis released the dove for peace. 190 days after Bernie Sanders had a pigeon land on his podium in Portland. Bernie said it was a dove and sign of world peace.

When Jonah came ashore and preached repentance, Nineveh had
40 days. Those of you who made it through to the end have one of two
conclusions. Either this is absolute madness or there is a God who speaks
through ALL creation. Taking the Jonah example it would be wise to consider the
warning given to Nineveh.

Did you know they make these haunting sounds through their nostrils? A gulp of air a big chest expansion and it comes out their nose. One of my favorite sounds in the Backyard this fellow gives us a rare closeup performance!
